DBMM V2

CinC Reg Cv(S), 8 x Reg Cv(S), 2 x Irr El (O), 2 x Irr LH(F). 30 ME

Train 6 x Rge Bge(F). 12 ME
Scouting, Feigned flight.
The basic plan is to pile the 2 big Cv commands down one flanks , support with
the elephants and skirmish elsewhere with the little commands. Terrain will be a
smallish 2 FE gentle hill.

chose to model my force on an all mounted army and my list was as follows-

a 5AP stratagem (scout)
The idea is to stay away from any kind of terrain, 6 IAxS are not enough to contest one if defended with determination, and second period has many armies with better terrain troops.
The psiloi are there just as defence from enemy elephants and as mobile reserve to provide overlaps and flank protection where needed.
The idea is to have shock troops in 2 different corps to be more flexible in deployment. I have tried to mass KnX and elephant in the same command but the risk is that a competent opponent can avoid it and this army rely on frontal shock.
As terrain of choice, in attack I would always put down a river.
I considered also to buy ambush, to have 8ICvS deployed in flank sector.
The main problem of this composition is the protection from envelopment.
I would use LhF and Ps to cover the flanks, with CiC on the open flank, but low pips can really hurt.
Sassanid is interesting for has a unique composition in period and can be organized in many different ways.

> Last one I tested with under 2.0 was as follows - I am not convinced by bge for Irr armies, can get to a decent Me score without, and prefer not to have to react to speculative wide sweeps.
> C1 - Ag ILh(S), 8 ILh(S) - 12Me
> C2 - C-i-C ICv(S), 1 ICv(S), 4 IKn(X), 3 IEl(O), 8 IHd(O) - 24Me
> C3 - Sg ICv(S), 10 ICv(S) - 24Me

> I don't regard this as an absolute killer but its a very tidy little army that will be reasonably serious in its time period.
